The Bulletin learnt that the CAEXPO Secretariat attaches great importance to the exhibitions and trade fairs held in the Sultanate. Since 2008, it has taken part in local exhibitions and fairs.
In addition, in 2010, it organised four enterprises for the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, including a biotechnological company named Enlide to the 2010 Brunei International Halal Food Exhibition, helping to promote exchanges between Bruneian and Chinese enterprises. The CAEXPO Secretariat's working group in a statement yesterday said that they aimed to promote CAEXPO to the country's business communities. The upcoming 8th CAEXPO marks the 20th anniversary of Asean-China dialogue relations. At the event, Brunei's businesses will get to meet and talk face to face with state leaders and seize the latest official information released by government authorities.
Local businesses will also have more opportunities to showcase, arts and crafts, as well as food, ICT and service products, while enhancing or expanding investments and cooperation, including between the tourism and service sectors. The Brunei Consumer Fair 8 is sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR), which is also one of the CAEXPO's co-sponsors. MIPR had organised for Brunei's exhibitors and trade visitors to attend all the previous seven CAEXPOs. This year, MIPR will again be actively attracting the interests of Bruneian businesses to take part in the CAEXPO, in a bid to help more of them explore the Chinese market.--courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
