Overseas vendors join Brunei consumer fair

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN) - The 19th Consumer Fair (CF19) officially opened its doors to the public yesterday in a ceremony at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas, officiated by Mustappa bin Sirat, the Minister of Communications.

The opening ceremony was initiated with the recitation of the Surah Al-Fatihah and a Doa, followed by a welcoming speech from Danial bin Hanafiah, the Executive Director of D’Sunlit Sdn Bhd, who said that the event is especially intended to promote products and services from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to a broader market.

More than 400 booths have been set up at the ICC this year, with several entrepreneurs from Malaysia, Cambodia, Singapore and Pakistan participating alongside local vendors.

With the uplifting theme of ‘The Year Is Yours. What will you do with it?’ CF19 is focused on giving back to society, and among the charities benefiting from the proceeds are the Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources Brunei, Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam (Pusat Ehsan), the Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind and Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Meanwhile, a number of fun activities have been lined up for the fair, where visitors can take part in hot dog and chicken wing eating contests, an ice-cream-making contest and a cupcake-decorating demonstration.

CF19 is open to visitors from 10am to 10pm, while on Friday it will be closed from 12pm to 2pm, for Friday prayer.

Bibd privileges, waivers up for grabs at Consumer Fair

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - MEMBERS of the public are welcome to visit the BIBD booth at the 19th Consumer Fair held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) from January 18-22 to gain a better understanding of the array of BIBD conveniences such as the BIBD Mobile, BIBD Online and vCard.

BIBD personnel will be on hand to provide advice on any BIBD conveniences or promotion, allowing customers to select products and services best-suited to them to maximise their benefits.Each day the BIBD booth will be focusing on awareness for the benefit of the public.

The first day will focus on the promotions and benefits entitled to BIBD Credit Card holders, along with the promotional campaigns under BIBD such as the Barakah, Swipe for Rewards, Card Privileges and BIBD treats.

It will also see the launch of a promotional campaign video for its Consolidation Financing Scheme which is intended to raise greater awareness on its financial convenience.

At the fair, applicants will be entitled to a processing fee waiver along with an entry into BIBD’s Barakah Rewards 7.

The second day will see the BIBD booth carry a home theme, raising awareness on its Home Financing products along with the benefits of owning your own home.

On day three, the booth will switch to a digital theme to highlight the digital conveniences offered by BIBD – such as its BIBD Mobile, BIBD Online and BIBD vCard, along with an on-site demo of these digital services for all visitors.

Customers registering for BIBD vCard, BIBD Online or BIBD Mobile will be rewarded with 2,000 Hadiah points.

The BIBD digital applications, that can instantly allow users to use their accumulated Hadiah points, provides the utmost in convenience and speed for transactions such as bill payments, utility top-ups purchase and charity donations. These conveniences become extra useful in times of need, during off-business hours or shortages of physical top-up cards in the denominations you want.

Other special benefits only available during the Consumer Fair are BIBD’s processing fee waivers for its financing products and annual fee waivers for its credit cards.

There is also an added bonus where early applicants of BIBD’s credit cards, BIBD Mobile, BIBD Online and BIBD vCard will be entitled to gifts ranging from a travel luggage to BIBD Hadiah points.

19th Consumer Fair

The Consumer Fair is back. The 19th Consumer Fair began yesterday at the International Convention Centre in Berakas. The fair organised by D'Sunlit Sendirian Berhad offers a variety of products and services. What is special about this fair this time is that it not only encourages visitors to shop in the country, but at the same time, to also extend assistance to several non-government organisations.

The fair was officially launched by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, the Minister of Communications. This 5-day Fair is more focused on assisting and promoting charity work as well as instilling the sense of care and benevolence among the community towards the causes of NGOS such as SMARTER Brunei, Pusat Ehsan, the Brunei Darussalam Association of the Visually-impaired and the Foundation for Children with Cancer, YASKA. Also present was Awang Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications.

More than 400 booths were provided for the fair with more than 200 entrepreneurs from within the country and abroad taking part. Themed, 'The Year is Yours; What Will You Do With It?', the Consumer Fair is open to the public until Sunday from 10 in the morning until 10 in the evening. Aside from the sales, several activities are also organised at the fair including skill-building workshops and games. The organisers hope the fair would serve as a platform for local entrepreneurs to promote their products and create a business network with their counterparts from other countries.

19th Consumer Fair Offer Better Deals

The 19th Consumer Fair (CF19), which is set to take place at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas from January 18 to 22, will feature over 400 booths.

Among the vendors who will be taking part in the five-day event is Better Sdn Bhd, who will be having a 'Car of the Day' promotion, in which visitors will be able to sign up for fantastic deals. Those interested can find Better Sdn Bhd at the Blue Zone of the CF19 event that has been relocated to the parking area at the West Wing of the ICC.

The 19th Consumer Fair is themed `The Year Is Yours; What Will You Do With It?'. It is open from 10 am to 10 pm. It will be temporarily closed on Friday from noon to 2pm.

Upcoming 19th Consumer Fair Underway

Preparation for the upcoming 19th Consumer Fair are now underway at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.

This year over 400 booths and 180 local and international exhibitors including from Asean countries will showcase their respective most popular products and services at the five-day fair from January 1822. The event is being organised by D'Sunlit Sdn Bhd.

The Blue Zone, which was previously located at the east side of the venue, has been relocated to the parking area at the west side of the ICC to accommodate over 100 booths under a roder tent.

Shuttle buses will be provided at the Indoor Stadium area for the convenience of the consumers and exhibitors.

The theme for the 19th instalment of the consumer fair is 'The Year is Yours'. The biannual In-Fair Magazine, now in its fourth edition, will feature 19 New Year resolutions for consumers to pick and choose which will be their top New Year resolution to achieve for the upcoming year.

Consumers will get to challenge one of the New Year resolutions which is 'Face Your Fears' at the fair, located at Sepakat 4 in the ICC. For those who love to challenge themselves against fears, 'Face Your Fears' will feature a mysterious challenge. Consumers will have to face the uncertainty it brings, and it is a thrilling test to kick start the year.

The fair is also loaded with activities from exhibitors and new faces. WayBack Burger will be conducting a 'Triple Challenge Eating Competition' and Pelicana Chicken will organise a 'Can You Take the Hotness?' competition while Lof Bakery will be having a 'Cupcake Decorations' competition for cupcake lovers and those who love to bake.

Kingston Beverage & Creamery Sdn Bhd will be conducting its ice-cream decoration activity which was one of the most popular activities during the 18th Consumer Fair earlier in May last year.

Tree of Hope from Children's Cancer Foundation (YASKA) will allow members of the public to donate and write heart-warming and encouraging messages for the children living with cancer and to the families who are always there for them.

Proceeds collected will be fully donated to YASKA on the last day of the event.

Better Brunei which was recently launched will also be joining the fair to offer special promotions and deals for car rentals exclusively at the fair in the Blue zone roder tent area.

The grand draw of the `POKKA Bonanza Lucky Draw' will be held on January 21 at the fair. The Red Bull Human Foosball final game will be held at the end of the fair. KindyKare International will also be at the fair to provide affordable childcare services to the exhibitors and visitors.More activities are to be featured on the Concourse stage of the fair, such as a DST Quiz and Loyalty programme, Syarikat Teeyem Majeed hamper giveaways and many more.The 19th Consumer Fair is open to the public from 10am to 10am on all days, except Friday, when the fair will be closed temporarily from noon to 2pm for the Friday prayers.
